Silent auction fundraiser for 150th anniversary
Lincoln Theater is continuing the celebration of its 150th anniversary by inviting the community to take part in a very special online silent auction, featuring an eclectic collection of experiences, gifts, and treasures donated by businesses, artists, organizations, and friends throughout the Midcoast.
The community will have two weeks to browse the offerings, with bidding opening Sept. 21 - Oct. 4. All bids will help support Lincoln Theater as it raises funds toward capital projects, preserving Lincoln Theater for the next 150 years!
For a century and a half, Lincoln Hall has been a place where people gather. Generations of Midcoast residents have come through its doors for movies, concerts, theater, lectures, community events, children's programs, and countless other shared experiences. The theater's anniversary is an opportunity not only to look back at that history, but to help ensure there is a future worth celebrating. This online fundraising auction reflects that same community spirit.
Local businesses and individuals have contributed a wide-ranging collection of items and experiences, from local favorites and dining opportunities to special experiences and unique offerings. Some are practical. Some are indulgent. Some are the sort of thing that might be difficult to find anywhere else. The auction also offers a chance to discover some of the people and businesses that make the Midcoast such a special place to live.
To access the auction, there will be QR codes at the theater and on flyers around town, as well as a link to the online auction site through the theater’s website at LincolnTheater.org.
Lincoln Theater will be offering sneak peeks at some of the auction items through its social media channels, giving prospective bidders a chance to see what's in store before the auction begins. All proceeds from the auction will support Lincoln Theater and its ongoing work to preserve and improve the historic theater for the generations ahead.
This celebration is about honoring the people, performances, films, memories, and moments that have filled the theater over the years—and making sure there are many more to come.
